Drs. Hennie Wesseling studied physics at the free University in Amsterdam. He joined TNT
Post in 1980. He was as a projectmanager at that time responsible for the
automation of the postoffices in Holland.
Also he introduced the first ATM’s and was at the basis of PIN-code
verification in the 80’s.
In the 90’s he joined the logistics and distribution side of TNT Post
and was responsible for the total change of the Information Systems set-up for
that part of the group. At the same time he was responsible for the
introduction of the new client server network with over 500 distributed sites.
In April 1996 he was appointed as director ICT Mail responsible for TNT
Post’s ICT policy. Since January 2001 he is also responsible for the total ICT operations
of the Mail division and is a member of the Corporate IS Council of TNT N.V.
His personal interest lies in the combination of organization, ICT and
people who use ICT. He thinks that IT is far too complex and often to
expensive. Keep
IT simple is what he likes.
